BPCM, a fashion, beauty, lifestyle and technology brand strategy and communications agency has launched a Sustainability Division, to address sustainability in a “direct and meaningful way”.

The move comes as fully integrated agency BPCM, founded by Carrie Ellen Phillips and Vanessa von Bismarck in 1999, marks its 20th anniversary, and the new division aims to encourage others to participate in a circular economy and focus on waste reduction.

“20 years on, we keep evolving and innovating and it is only fitting for BPCM to start this new chapter that will have a positive impact on the world and allows us to provide this much-needed service to our clients,” said Vanessa von Bismarck in a statement.

BPCM has offices in London, New York, and Los Angeles as well as a global network of partner agencies, already services a number of sustainable brands, including The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Evrnu, Firewire Surfboards, Evolved By Nature, Paskho, Kelly Slater, Outerknown, Aldo and One Ocean Beauty.

The new sustainability division will be lead by Phillips, who is a passionate and prolific speaker and writer on the topic, as well as an advisor at Bard College’s MBA in Sustainability and concentration in the Circular Economy, and will focus on advising and educating brands on how to incorporate sustainability into their DNA, platforms and supply chains.

“We realise that this conversation can be daunting and our approach is to help clients figure out how to engage with topics like sustainability, the circular economy and ethical supply chain while staying true to their brand codes,” added Phillips. “BPCM’s specialisation in sustainability grew naturally as we helped our clients figure out how to balance giving customers what they want while mitigating their impact on the planet.”
