Fred & Friends Chill Baby Volume, Panic Button and Artiste Pacifiers

Product description

This recall involves three styles of Chill Baby pacifiers that are all made of silicone rubber and plastic.

Hazard identified

The beard component of the Chill Baby Artiste pacifier and the knob on the Chill Baby Volume pacifier can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. The ventilation holes on the Baby Chill Volume and Baby Chill Panic Button pacifiers are too small.

Fred & Friends has received one report of the knob on the Baby Chill Volume pacifier detaching in the United States.  No injuries have been reported.

Neither Health Canada nor Fred & Friends has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians regarding the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 17,136 of the recalled products were distributed in Canada and approximately 183,000 were imported in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled pacifiers were sold from April 2013 to December 2013 in Canada and the United States at various department, gift, drug, toy, baby product, grocery and home decorating stores, hospital and museum gift shops, as well as various websites.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should take the recalled pacifiers away from young children immediately and return them to Fred & Friends for a $12 (U.S) refund.  Fred & Friends is providing a postage paid envelope for consumers to return the recalled pacifiers.
