Recognizing the Risen Christ

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples on the Emmaus RoadAfter rising from the dead, Christ appeared to two disciples walking down a road. (Luke 24:13-32)

And the crazy thing is neither one recognized it was Him!

And even though Jesus was right there in front of their very noses, the two men remained in the dark.

Only later would they have their eyes opened in recognition of the living Savior. (Luke 24:31)

And there are at least four things we learn for this story of recognizing the risen Christ…

1. Unless God opens our eyes, we’ll never know it’s Him. (Luke 24:16)

2. Something happens when you encounter the living Lord. (Luke 24:32)

And where your heart was once cold to the things of God and His cause, a fire is kindled that burns to eternal life.

3. So many miss what God has for them and it’s because they don’t ask Him in. (Luke 24:29)

4. Genuine recognition of the risen Christ will result in you telling somebody about it. (Luke 24:35)
