Important And Fun Facts About Easter (INFOGRAPHIC)

We only post information on BayBusinessHelp Monday through Friday.

Since we won’t have a post on Easter, we thought we’d post the origin of Easter and a fun Easter infographic for you today.

The Origin and Meaning of Easter

Easter is the day that Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

You might not realize this, but Easter is a “moveable feast.”

In other words, it is not on the same day every year.

The First Council of Nicaea (325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the March equinox.

Easter is also very closely linked to the Jewish Passover. It’s connected by its symbolism and also by its position in the calendar.

Easter customs vary across the Christian world, and include sunrise services, communionEaster meals, and more.

Other customs that have also become connected with Easter are: Easter Egg hunting, the Easter Bunny, and even Easter parades. (These are celebrated by both Christians and non-Christians.)
