Hazard identified

This voluntary recall is the result of United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) testing that revealed an elevated microorganism count in Aura Cacia Lavender Milk & Oat Bath. While cosmetic products are not required to be sterile, an elevated microorganism count indicates that the product could pose a hazard to health. To date, no illnesses have been associated with these products.

Neither Health Canada nor Frontier Co-op has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 800 of the affected units were sold in Canada and approximately 9800 affected units were sold in the USA.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold at various retailers across Canada between October 2015 and September 2016.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products even if it does not look or smell spoiled.

Consumers who purchased any of the lots being recalled are advised to dispose of the product in a way to ensure that it cannot be reused, such as emptying the contents into the trash.  A credit is offered to consumers who purchased the affected product.
