The Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is recruiting for Child Support Operations Managers who, under general direction, plan, organize and oversee a large staff of subordinate supervisors in the operations of the department. These duties include establishment and enforcement of court orders, legal operations, program and policy, clerical functions and coordination and oversite of staff development and training.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
 
Travel: Statewide and nationwide travel is required on an occasional basis.  Travel throughout the County is required and employees will be required to make provisions for transportation.  At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced by the individual providing the transportation.

Background: Applicants must pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, prior to appointment.
 
Work Assignment: Applicants must be willing to accept assignment, as needed, to any of the DCSS offices, which are located in Loma Linda, Victorville, and Ontario.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework from an accredited institution in Public/Business Administration, Administration of Justice, Behavioral/Social Science, English, Math, Humanities or closely related field.  Transcripts must be submitted with the application if the candidate does not possess an Associate's degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields of study mentioned above.

EXPERIENCE (applicant must meet one of the following options):
Option 1: Three (3) years of experience supervising staff responsible for determining the establishment and enforcement of child support obligations.
Option 2: Three (3) years of management-level experience, supervising multiple subordinate supervisors, technical or professional level staff in a large office setting.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a leader who builds collaborative relationships internally and externally; empowers others to make decisions; understands the dynamics of organizational change; finds innovative ways to achieve the department goals; is able to effectively plan, prioritize, execute work; and has excellent communication skills.  A Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields listed above is also highly desirable.
