Los Angeles Convention Center's Spectacular Summer Events

Located in Downtown L.A., the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is internationally renowned as a world-class site for conventions, conferences, meetings and assemblies. Operationally managed by AEG Facilities, the LACC attracts over 2.5 million visitors annually and as a LEED® Gold certified facility continues to be a symbol of environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

This summer, the LACC welcomes back four spectacular events: BET Experience (BETX), Anime Expo (AX), Beautycon Festival LA, and KCON Los Angeles. All four shows have grown to become the largest entertainment experiences of their kind in size, popularity, and contribution to the L.A. economy.

Opened in November 1966, the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens is one of the city’s most popular destinations, drawing nearly two millions visitors each year, and for good reason. It is home to more than 1,400 animals representing some 270 species, many rare or endangered. So whatever your favorite - meerkats or mandrills, komodo dragons or kangaroos - chances are you’ll get to see them here. Cool, overcast days offer some of the best viewing opportunities. But even on a hot summer afternoon there's tons to see and do. The L.A. Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Now in its sixth year, the BET Experience (BETX) gathers thousands of fans for three days of music and entertainment at L.A. LIVE. BETX includes the BET Fan Fest, Celebrity Basketball, Celebrity Dodgeball, Genius Talks, Acoustically Speaking, Kicksperience, and the House of Fashion & Beauty. This year's Main Stage features Leikeli47, Tee Grizzley, Duckwrth, Jessie Reyez, YBN Nahmir, Molly Brazy, Lil Skies, Lil Baby, Derez Deshon, Bryant Myers, A. Chal and Mereba. BETX culminates with the BET Awards, broadcasting live from Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday, June 24.

Anime Expo (AX) brings together 100,000 fans and industry professionals from Japan, the U.S., and over 60 other countries from around the world for the largest celebration of Japanese pop culture in North America. AX originally launched in Northern California in 1992 and moved to LACC in 2008. AX spans all 720,000 square feet of exhibit space at LACC and features a pre-show and four days of panels, premieres, Q&A sessions, and concerts. Highlights include anime screenings, Anime Music Video (AMV) showcase, 4,000-title Manga Lounge, Japanese streetwear fashion show, game shows, dance battles, and The Masquerade, the signature cosplay and performance competition.

LACC hosts the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle community at Beautycon Festival LA. The two-day festival welcomes the global community of content creators, celebrities, fans, and brands to celebrate all things fashion, beauty, style and the passions of the Gen Z and Millennial lifestyle with beauty panels, makeup tutorials, meet-ups, and activations with cosmetic and lifestyle brands. "Celebrate the power of beauty with more than 500 creators and 100+ brand experiences from your favorite beauty and health & wellness brands. Break the confines of space and time and skyrocket to another planet - where none of the old rules apply, and everything that you think is beautiful IS."

Dedicated to "All Things Hallyu," KCON Los Angeles has become the largest Korean culture and K-Pop convention in North America. Launched in 2012 with over 10,000 fans in attendance, KCON and has since expanded to over 128,000 fans in L.A. and New Jersey last year. KCON is now established in Los Angeles as the flagship event for American fans of Hallyu and Asian pop culture, offering the largest forum for fans to directly connect with each other, as well as artists and professionals from the Korean entertainment industry. Due to popular demand, KCON expanded in 2016 to include a three-day festival with more vendors, programming, panels, and two nights of concerts at STAPLES Center.
