An east Des Moines woman reported being beaten, kidnapped and threatened with a loaded gun early Sunday.

The woman, 21, said her boyfriend returned to the home they shared in the 1800 block of Williams Street. The boyfriend was reportedly upset about her spending time with other people.

The woman told police her boyfriend punched her in the head three times, choked her and then dragged her into his car by her hair.

The woman tried to call her mother, but the man allegedly took and broke her mobile phone.

The man produced "an assault-style weapon," the police report said, and "pulled back the charging handle" on the device.

The woman told police that the weapon resembled an AK-47 and that her boyfriend typically hides it beneath his bed. He also has boxes of ammunition, she said.

The woman lay at gunpoint on the ground in a fetal position, according to the police report. The victim "believed she was going to be killed … and vomited on herself."

The man taunted her verbally and continued to beat her when she tried to run away.

The man eventually forced her back into the car and took her back to the Williams Street house. The man threatened to kill the woman's father if she told anyone about the beating, the report said.

The woman suffered bruises to her arms, legs, chest and face. Detectives were looking for the man late Sunday, police said.
