Des Moines is not the place to live for those who like mild weather, according to a new report by WalletHub.com.

WalletHub ranked Des Moines the seventh worst city for mild weather lovers among the country's 600 largest cities.

This shouldn't come as a big surprise considering the city has seen temperatures this year ranging from negative 38 (with wind chill) on Jan. 6 to 107 (dew point included) on July 21 this year.

The financial website used the following metrics in their rankings: temperature and humidity; precipitation and snow; sky conditions; poor weather conditions; and extreme weather.

According to WalletHub, the worst city for mild weather lovers is Youngstown, Ohio, and the best is Glendale, Calif.

The website also ranked the best and worst cities for lovers of individual seasons. The worst city is Juneau, Alaska, and the best is Modesto, Calif.

WalletHub created sub-rankings listing the cities with the best and worst temperature and humidity, best and worst precipitation and snow, and best and worst sky conditions.

The website analyzed and ranked the cities in order to help people evaluate how weather fluctuations in a city might affect their lives and finances. The analysis occurred at this time because it's hurricane season, according to the website.
